EZ Press Release  -- May 15, 2010 Jet Airways, India’s premier international airline, celebrated a 'green' 17th anniversary (on May 05th) with a tree plantation drive participated by employees representing various departments of the Airline at the airline’s new upcoming head Quarters in Bandra.

 

 

Over a hundred employees from all the various departments across the airline from In-flight services and Finance to Flight Operations and Cargo, planted 25 saplings, in the presence of senior company officials, to mark the occasion.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Nikos Kardassis, CEO, Jet Airways said: “Jet Airways is a responsible corporate citizen and our tree plantation drive on the occasion of our 17th Anniversary is an expression of this approach. For the airline, it is a small attempt to inform and educate its staff to respect and make their own small contribution to the environment.”

Jet Airways commenced operations on May 5, 1993 to 12 domestic destinations, with a fleet of four leased Boeing 737-300 aircraft.  

The airline has since grown to emerge as India’s premier international airline, and the country’s leading airline group by market share. With a fleet of 87 wide and narrow-bodied aircraft, Jet Airways today flies to 65 destinations in India and around the world.
