Irving Ballet School is pleased to announce the school has experienced exponential growth since opening and recently received a prestigious award for small businesses. The ballet school features an award-winning faculty that teach students of all ages in a variety of exciting classes.

The school made history when it first opened on June 4, 2016, since it was the city of Irving’s first professional school for the arts. In just six weeks, the school enrolled more than 100 new ballerinas and now the attendance stands at more than 330 students.

By finding mentors in the local Chamber of Commerce’s free business mentor program, SCORE, as well as utilizing top mentors from several successful national musical schools, the record growth has surpassed expectations. Due to its expansion, the school was awarded the SCORE Small Business Award for the school and its partner company, RBR (Rhythm Before Reading) Muzik.

Before opening the ballet school, Zoë Schommer realized music should be accessible to all so group classes were made affordable at $80 per month to allow students as young as three to learn an instrument of their choice. At the time, the requests for ballet lessons were increasing so after one year of only offering music, the Irving Ballet School was founded.
