Xycorp is a company based in the Palm Springs area that manufactures machinery used in the processing of metals and Expanded Poly-Styrene (EPS) foam. The company’s mission is to provide industrial-quality machinery and support services to companies that fabricate metal and EPS foam products.
The people behind Xycorp have produced microprocessor controlled industrial system design and build since 1979. As EPS use became more common, Xycorp was formed. At first, the company manufactured Xydroids, a type of hot wire machine that was sold to other companies.
In addition to Xydroid machines, the company further developed a unique extrusion process to coat EPS foam with a polymer-based cement product. The resulting product has become a staple in the construction industry due to its affordability and durability. The Xydroid machines are constructed using metal parts, which is why in the early 90s, Xycorp designed a metal cutting machine that eventually led to the automation of the entire production process.
