Providence, Rhode Island, January 10, 2020: Attorneys Amato DeLuca and Miriam Weizenbaum, are excited to announce they have been named as the 2020 Champions for Justice and will be honored at the Champions for Justice event at Roger Williams University. The Champions for Justice event at Roger Williams University aims to celebrate and support all those students, alumni and partners of the law school program for their devotion to social justice.

Amato “Bud” DeLuca and Miriam Weizenbaum have been chosen for the 2020 Champions for Justice honor for their decades of pro bono service to those individuals within the community whose civil rights are in jeopardy and whose voices would not have been heard without their assistance. Additionally, the DeLuca and Weizenbaum team was chosen due to their generous support of organizations providing legal and other services to low-income residents of the community.

DeLuca and Weizenbaum, LTD have insured access to justice for thousands of Rhode Islanders by founding and supporting the Rhode Island Center for Justice, a public interest law center working with community advocates and training future public interest lawyers.  In addition, they have provided pro bono legal services within the community to a number of organizations, including the Rhode Island ACLU, the Providence Student Union, Occupy Providence and the Rhode Island Coalition for the Homeless. Their honesty, integrity, and passion for justice have earned them a reputation for excellence in advocacy in the community.
